The College Access Project (CAP):
The CAP project is aimed at understanding the factors that positively and negatively shape Southeast Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders’ trajectories to higher education. Interviews with Southeast Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders are being analyzed to illuminate the ways in which critical factors shape these pathways.

The College Student Leadership Study:
In collaboration with the National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good and National Center for Institutional Diversity at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, NITE is engaged in research to understand student leadership in the Midwest. Through surveys and interviews with college student organization advisors and student leaders, this project is excavating how students’ experiences shape their engagement in social justice-oriented leadership.

The Culturally Relevant Pedagogy Project (CRP):
This project is focused on understanding culturally relevant pedagogy in colleges and universities. Through interviews with college faculty across diverse disciplines, this study is aimed at understanding the factors that lead faculty to engage culturally relevant pedagogy in their practice, how they enact this work in their classrooms, and the barriers they face and how they overcome them.

The How Asian American Native American and Pacific Islander Serving Institutions Promote Success (HAPS) Study:
This multi-institution case study focuses on examining how Asian American Native American and Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs) are fostering the types of campus environments that allow Asian American and Pacific Islander students to thrive. Specifically, the NITE team is analyzing how AANAPISI programs are cultivating more culturally engaging campus environments.

The Organizational Change and Equity (OCE) Project
This multi-institution case study explores how institutions of higher education change to advance diversity and equity. Through this study, the NITE team is analyzing how organizational cultures and structures shape such change efforts. They are also analyzing how institutions leverage networks and utilize data to facilitate such change, to advance knowledge about how campuses can effectively pursue diversity and equity agendas.
